Fortnite has launched its teasing machine for Chapter 2 Season 2 — scheduled to beginning on February 20. Yesterday, an unusual advertisement appeared in a subway station in Brazil. On a screen, Fortnite's name was displayed, covered with an entirely golden handprint. Underneath was a telephone number... which gives access to a voice mailbox if dialed.
This ad isn't really a commercial and is more of a teaser for next season. At the beginning of the month, dataminers had extracted files from the game revealing that in the centre of the map, props were turning into gold. This golden hand reinforces the possibility that this event will happen. According to some Youtubers and dataminers, the imprint even matches the hand of Oro — the skeletal solid gold skin, which also leaked a short time ago.
The gold bands that cover the text on the poster also echo a publication on the official Epic Games website, partially covered in gold:
The most impressive is the phone number at the bottom of the teaser. Whoever dialed it got an actual voicemail which delivers — if translated from Brazilian — the following message:
The rest of the message is even more cryptic, and sounds like cat meows or coughs. In the last update, an audio file called "AgentMeowsicles" was found by leakers. What's special about it? In the form of a spectrogram, it showed something quite surprising:
Of course, this is the audio recording at the end of the voice mail. At the time of writing, it's extremely difficult to link the theory of Oro with that of the Meowsicles Agents. It looks like Epic Games is unveiling its first golden news for its upcoming season.
