Leroy Athanassof, Game Director, told the Windows Central website that Rainbow Six: Siege will be available on the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X from their respective launches.

Although Ubisoft's financial results aren't looking good, Rainbow Six Siege is an exception. With a competitive multiplayer experience still regularly played by several million players, R6 seems to have a bright future. With the arrival of the next generation console at the end of the year, the publisher has detailed its vision for the future.

Game Director Leroy Athanassof shared that the team wants to release Rainbow Six Siege on the Xbox Series X and PS5.

What I can tell you is that we are going to be on [the consoles] from launch. When they will release the consoles; but it's up to them to agree that. For Siege, our target is to be available right at launch.

Cross-platform is also planned and cross-play between Xbox and Playstation also remains a priority for the studio, but this involves different legislation to be untangled first.

Again, this is more a discussion between Microsoft and Sony. We would love to be fully cross-play — have Xbox players matchmaking against the PlayStation players. We are ready to support that. And hopefully, this will happen because as I said, it's a general move in the industry, and there is nothing that can prevent that. It's just a matter of time before it happens.
