With the teasing of Season 2, then the launch trailers, helicopters have carved out a place for themselves in Epic Games' communication. Until today it was impossible to know if the flying war machines would really become vehicles or elements of "scenery". There is no longer any room for doubt, as dataminers have unearthed statistics files on Helicopters as vehicles capable of dealing damage:
- Player damage: 50
- Damage to buildings: 150
- Explosion damage to players: 70
- Explosion damage to buildings: 450
- Impact damage at minimum speed: 20
- Impact damage when two helicopters collide: 100
- Health points : 1500
These data have been relayed by French dataminer Yanteh, as well as by other world-renowned leakers. In view of the statistics listed, we will probably have to deal with an anti-construction vehicle above all — like motorized canoes — with a strong potential for mobility.
Its durability is interesting, as 1,500 HP make it significantly strong. By way of comparison, airplanes only had 800 HP — it will be difficult to quickly shoot down the chopper.
The integration of helicopters will be a key point of Season 2. Epic Games won't have to make the same mistakes as in the past for some of its vehicles. The players still have in mind the painful memory of the B.R.U.T.E in Season 10 — mech suits were too resistant, too powerful and too mobile.
On the other hand, the beginning of Chapter 2 does need an innovative vehicle that brings a good dose of mobility to a metagame that has proved to be frozen in recent months.
