Gen.G reveals its own Valorant roster

The list of esports organisations that have decided to set up their own Valorant team is now long — TSM, Athaim, NiP to name a few — while the game is still in closed beta. Coming from many different backgrounds, there are more and more players who wish to become professionals on the game. One of the recent examples is the Overwatch World Champion Sinatraa who joined Sentinels.

It's now the turn of Gen.G to officially reveal its own roster. The Korean based organization has made the audacious choice to recruit only former CS:GO players. As the two games have a lot of similarities, this could very quickly become a winning bet.

The lineup will be made up of:

  • Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne
  • Danny "huynh" Huynh
  • Michael "MkaeL" De Luca
  • Anthony "gMd" Guimond
  • Loic "effys" Sauvageau

Most of these players had competed in CS:GO tournaments together under the name LiViD Gaming. Having never won any major competitions, they still finished in second place of the DreamHack Canadian Championship and the World Electronic Sports Games, both in 2019.

Less than a day after the team's announcement, they had the opportunity to show what they could do collectively during the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Invitational. By defeating Team Brax in the Grand Finals, they didn't only win the $25,000 cash prize, they've shown themselves to be a team to be feared at future tournaments.
