If you're a fan of Fortnite competitions, you must have recently noticed how many players use the Dracocorn glider during matches. In late games, when launch pads were used massively, clouds of multicolored unicorns could be seen in the sky!
If a lot of players equipped themselves with this glider in competition, it was mainly for its deployment animation, making them very difficult to aim.
The glider had already been controversial on Reddit for several weeks. It was rightly described as a "pay to win" cosmetic, which guaranteed an advantage for the player.
Epic Games put a stop to the controversy shortly after the deployment of Patch 12.50.2, by disabling the Dragacorn in Arena and Competitive, until its deployment animation is corrected.
From now on, the glider is replaced by the "basis" one until further notice.
Epic Games has also confirmed that after the change in animation, all players who purchased the Dragacorn glider will be able to get a full refund of the cosmetic if they wish, without paying a token.
