276,601 is the number of duos across Europe that took part in Thursday's Fortnite Contender Cash Cup — an amazing figure that reflects the good health of the battle royale.
It's a pretty ordinary tournament, though. As every Thursday in Chapter 2 Season 2, the traditional Cash Cup took place. It was a classic tournament, with little money at stake, but it was enough to make the number of entries explode.
The competition took place online and was open to all players who reached the Contender League, that is to say a large panel of candidates.
Recently, the game has been the subject of much criticism for its stance and its lack of communication. While Epic Games hasn't yet found a miracle formula to satisfy all of its many players, the company wants to be closer to the community — which has the immediate effect of renewing ties with its fans.
