Despite being leaked beforehand, Epic Games' reveal of Grand Theft Auto V Premium Edition as the latest free game created so much buzz that it caused the Epic Games Store to crash. Players struggled to access the client to claim their freebee, which also affected players of games through the client — most notably Fortnite.
Now, a leak from user Detectiveconan77 on Reddit, and reported by games industry source Nibel, suggests the next three titles to be given away are Civilization VI, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and Ark: Survival Evolved.
It's unclear whether the giveaway of Civilization VI will include the game's many DLC packs, but these games are major titles and show a real statement of intent from Epic.
According to the screenshot, the games will be delivered on the following dates:
- Civilization VI — May 21
- Borderlands: The Handsome Collection — May 28
- Ark: Survival Evolved — June 4
These giveaways also coincide with the Epic Mega Sale, in which many major titles are heavily discounted. Examples include Remedy's award-winning Control at 50% off, Red Dead Redemption II at a 20% discount, Assassin's Creed Odyssey at 67% off and The Witcher III: Game of the Year Edition at 70% off.
