At the heart of a heated debate that opposes the controller and keyboard/mouse players, Epic Games announced that the aim assist would be tweaked in the next patch.

The controversy surrounding the aim assist is nothing new in Fortnite, but it seems that Epic Games finally decided to act. Currently, this tool allows gives controller players a certain superiority over K&M players, notably by giving them a boost during shots. as a consequence, and without that much surprises, many players and prominent actors of the community consider the assist far too powerful and complain they have no chance at all in a fight against someone playing with a controller

Controller tweaking, tuning, and investigation continues. We have some changes for next steps, but we don't want to release right before the FNCS Invitational Finals.
Epic Games on PC Controller Adjustments

While nerfing the aim assist seems fair from the K&M players side, it's quite different for the controller players — and Epic Games is certainly juggling with a delicate subject.

They will certainly have to find a compromise between the two that would restore equality between players, regardless of the device they're using.

The changes teased by Epic Games should hit live next week with Patch 12.61.
