Valorant will finally be officially released on June 2, after the beta servers shut down on May 28. The publisher announces that it's ready to face the threat of cheaters thanks to Vanguard and its auto-banning systems.
Recently, a Reddit post caught the eye of Valorant developer Paul "Arkem" Chamberlain. The post proposed to set up a notification system for players who have reported an opponent suspected of cheating or inappropriate behaviour in voice chat — to measure the effectiveness of these tools.
He commented that "We have plans for this! (for all kinds of bad behaviors including cheating) I think it's important for people to get feedback when their reports lead to a punishment being delivered."
Currently, this feature is already present in another Riot Games game: League of Legends. Nevertheless, it remains as problematic as ever, with some players continuing to describe the community as toxic. The presence of the feature hasn't changed anything. Is it a miracle cure or just a gimmick? Only time will tell, but Valorant has a chance to prove it.
