The final stretch before Fortnite's The Device event which will take place on June 15, and is expected to end Chapter 2 Season 2. It's not yet known exactly what's going to fall on our heads, but it could well be one of Epic Games' masterpieces. The upcoming event is supposed to weigh 200MB. In comparison, Travis Scott's concerts weighed 150MB.
Remember that the event won't be directly followed by the beginning of Season 3, scheduled for June 17. It's important to mention this because, unless Epic Games reproduces a black hole similar to the one that preceded Chapter 2 Season 1, players must play the battle royale between June 15 and 17 on a map that hasn't been transformed or flooded.
The Agency, at the heart of the event
It's at the Midas' lair that you'll have to go to to fully appreciate the show on D-Day. Sheltering an enigmatic electrified machine, the character seems to be at the heart of the plot. We still don't know what the spheres will trigger, but they're the ones that will logically turn the place upside down.
Some dataminers have moreover revealed the formal proof that the Agency won't come out of this cataclysm unscathed. Immediately after the event, the building is very likely to appear partially destroyed!
What if Midas isn't connected to the map flood?
Clues are unanimous: Season 3 will have to take place — at least at the beginning — in the water. Tabor Hill has issued several theses, concerning the presence of sharks in the waters and a water rise at the beginning of the season.
Nothing connects the Device event to the flood theme. It could be that Monday's event is an intervention by the agents to put an end to Midas' machiavellian project — remember that the latest challenge mission is called Assault the Agency.
Maybe Deadpool and his double pistols will come out of nowhere to stop Midas from doing evil? In any case, we should wait until Wednesday to discover the submersion of the place, and possible new underwater features.
What's disturbing is the presence of the hatches around the Agency. Potentially linked to the electrical spheres of the Device, they would be the tools of choice to drown the island.
Midas would open the floodgates on Monday, but the flood wouldn't happen until Wednesday? It's a possibility.
Epic Games has been particularly good at keeping the content of the event itself a secret. It's hard to go any further into the theory since we don't have the slightest teaser to point us in the right direction! How about you guys? What's your prediction for Monday?
