Helicopters — which appeared during the previous season in Fortnite — received a standing ovation when they came out. Pleasant to fly, playable in squad, they delighted casual players for weeks.
The rub is that Epic Games has made the unprecedented choice for Season 3 to incorporate them into Arena. Not everyone is happy with the decision, especially among fierce competitors and pro players.
Even though helicopters are relatively fragile, they can peak at several hundred metres above sea level and move quickly to avoid being targeted. Players eager for arena points can simply stay on the edge of the zone from their helicopter to collect ranking points.
With the resumption of the biggest competitive instances approaching, the question for the pros is: will the helicopters still be in-game?
