It has been confirmed via a PlayStation Blog post, the PS5 camera will not be compatible with the PSVR device.
This doesn't mean that Sony is going to abandon virtual reality on its new console, as there has been a lot of speculation about PSVR 2.
Playing PS VR games on a PS5 console will require:
- a PS VR headset
- a DualShock 4 wireless controller or a PlayStation Move controller,
- a PS Camera (for PS4)
Note that the PS5 HD Camera won't support PS VR on PS5. In order to use PS VR on PS5, you’ll need the PS Camera (for PS4), and the PS Camera adaptor, which will be provided for free to PS VR owners.
