PS5's DualSense is considered to be one of the best controller on the market, including on PC. It's only legitimate to want to use it on Steam, especially for players who own both devices.
Valve has published a press release about it to inform players about its use on Steam, while revealing some interesting information on the practices of these players, as well as their evolution over time.
All games using the Steam Input API are now compatible with DualSense without the need for outside help. LEDs, touch surface and gyroscopes are fully supported and can be configured by the players.
All this should happen on the basic version of Steam after some additional testing.
The press release also gives information about the use of controllers among PC players. In two years, their use on Steam has more than doubled.
This has been helped by the introduction of many games designed for it. For those in particular, 60% of players and more use a controller. In skateboarding game, it exceeds 90%.
The increase in the proportion of use of PlayStation controllers has been the highest in the last two years, rising from 10.9% to 21.6% on Steam.
