Rust hits another audience record on Steam

Released in early access in 2013, then fully in 2018 on Steam, Rust is now experiencing an incredible resurgence of players. The reason? Twitch streamers.

Rust hits another audience record on Steam

Rust has obliterated its all-time player count record with no less than 240,000 simultaneous players according to Steam Charts (source).

As we write this, there are 130,000 players listed in the last hour alone. Facepunch Studios' game is truly experiencing a revival.

Rust's main selling point lies in its multiplayer. Having a group of players band together makes it much easier to gather the resources used to create and improve your camp. But it is also, and most importantly, an extremely fun game to play with friends.

This is undoubtedly the reason for its current popularity on Twitch, with the likes of Pokimane streaming with friends and other top streamers.
