The freshly implemented patch 15.40 does not actually contain any exciting new features, but has resolved some technical issues, just in time for Season 6.
Epic Games has not released a full official patch note on its 15.40 update. Here’s everything we know, so far.
Return of the Flint Knock Pistol
With patch 15.40, the game's arsenal sees the return of the popular Flint Knock Pistol. This weapon can be found anywhere on the map. The Flint-Knock Pistol's singular inaccurate bullet does extremely high damage and knocks back the wielder and target of its attack (if they are close enough to the wielder), doing extraordinary material damage but suffering very badly at long range in terms of damage.
Limited Time Modes
Two limited time modes will join playlists during this patch 15.40: Air Royale and The Floor is Lava. This is very good news as they are arguably two of the most popular temporary modes in the community. The first puts the players at the controls of a biplane, for a merciless aerial fight.
The second will ask you to climb high so as not to be devoured by molten lava! This mode was recently honored by TheGrefg: the streamer who broke the record of viewers on Twitch by revealing a Fortnite skin.
Improved texture quality for walls and objects in Performance Mode
Miscellaneous fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused the displayed number of ingots in pocket to be 0.
- Fixed a bug that caused some of the Purple XP coins to disappear.
- Fixed the bug that cancelled matching when non-ready players left
Season 6 of Fortnite Chapter 2 is approaching fast, and the developers are currently in the process of testing it. A live event is also in preparation.
