GTA Online is well-known for having issues with its loading times: players can wait for more than five minutes to start a game.
When searching for the cause of this problem, Digital Foundry's Will Judd found out that some of the title's loading processes perform billions of item checks before allowing the user to play. (Here's a more in-depth article about the issue).
However, a fan and programmer called "tOst" has recently found a solution. As a result, tOst created a fix that drastically reduces the load times to one minute and fifty seconds.
Fortunately, Rockstar paid attention to this fix and announced that it will be implemented in a future update. Also, the company reward tOst with a $10k in-game bounty.
There's no word on when this update will be available or if it will be the exact same fix that the user has created.
