The Epic Game Store is receiving a new look and interesting social options. The team behind it said that "a major priority continues to be including more features that connect you to your friends and to the games you love." They also announced features that will release later this month and others that will come in the near future.
These are the updates coming in the following weeks:
- Player Cards: you can use this to manage your friendships. Also, you'll be able to join friend's games and more when the party system is implemented.
- Improved Search: a more efficient search tool with features such as the option of searching across platforms.
- Minimized View: a small view of the Social Panel will be available and it will let you see notifications from there.
- Do not Disturb: you won't be bothered by any kind of notification while you have this option turned on.
Regarding the more distant plans for the store, the team explained that they are creating a brand new party system that will present a variety of options:
- Party System Intro: communicate via voice and text with your teammates, whether you are in-game or not.
- Party Window: a dedicated window will let you start games with your party or share highlights.
- Drop In/ Drop Out Parties: there's no party leader in this system, so everyone can come and go as they please.
