The well-known company has opened a new video game development studios in Montreal, Canada. This is the fourth studio founded by Amazon, coming after the ones in Seattle, Orange County, and San Diego, and it will develop AAA titles.
Amazon Games VP Christoph Hartmann said a few words about the future of the new studio: “The highly skilled and experienced team at our new Montreal studio shares our commitment to creating best-in-class online games, and brings with them a wealth of knowledge and passion for building deep, community-focused multiplayer experiences. I look forward to watching them invent on behalf of customers as they grow their team and develop their first project.”
Also, it's worth mentioning that this new team is composed of industry veterans, such as Head of Production Luc Bouchard and Creative Director Xavier Marquis, both ex-members of the core team behind Rainbow Six Siege.
Regarding projects, Amazon Games is working on MMO New World, which will realese in August 2021, and other titles not announced yet.
