The story arc around the Ruination, launched with the release of Viego on League of Legends, continues. A new trailer presented recently shows the Mist entering Demacia. Does this mean this ancient city will be destroyed by an attack?

Everything you need to know about the new League of Legends game mode, Ultimate Spellbook

Ultimate Spellbook will allow players to fulfill their fantasies, as they can use other Champion's Ultimates in combination with their full kit. This new League of Legends game mode opens opportunities to discover incredible combos.

League of Legends' narrative arc surrounding Viego is still in its infancy. As the Mist is due to invade Summoner's Rift with Patch 11.14, Riot Games will likely have plenty of surprises in store. The ancient city of Demacia, home to Champions like Lux, Fiora or Jarvan IV, could well be destroyed due to the Ruined King.

First to Fall

But why would Demacia be the first city to fall after the start of the events which took place on the Shadow Isles? The regions are on opposite sides of the map.

The most likely reason is that Demacia's fierce opposition to the use of magic would leave it defenseless against Viego and the Black Mist. An easy first target for the Ruined King.

League of Legends

In the Ruination cinematic, which introduced Viego, we saw the Mist attacking different regions and cities such as Noxus and Ionia. It also showed that Champions without magic find it much more difficult to resist the Mist; Darius was possessed, but Karma managed to free herself alone. Attacking Demacia, the city where magic is outlawed and consequently rare, makes sense. If Viego's plan is to enslave the world, what better way than to start swelling his army with Demacian soldiers under his control?

Demacia may have been the first to have its fall teased, but it may not be the only one. Since that teaser, we've had another social media post released which points to all regions of Runeterra having the Black Mist descend upon them.

One thing is certain, the new cinematic shows that Riot Games has big plans for this story. It could have been intended to advertise the new game mode, Ultimate Spellbook, which is coming soon; but this video seems a little too much for something so small.

This teaser does prove that the release of the Ruined King RPG is near, and League of Legends will offer us an event which we hope will live up to our expectations. We do think this means that the 156th Champion will be added to the Rift soon, a new Sentinel of Light to help battle against the Black Mist.

The recent teaser has Mist-y clouds appearing towards the end of this week, as well as today in the weather report, so there could be more news coming soon!
