PlayStation celebrates Pride Month with important messages and exclusive content

Sony is celebrating Pride Month with a brief summary of their PlayStation games, some of which represent the values of the LGTBQ+ community.

Following an official statement from Tiffany Hester, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Sony Interactive Entertainment, she explained that they are not only proud with the content of their games, but also with their work environment.

"We want to be a positive force for culture and belonging – not only for our PlayStation community, creators, and partners but also for our employees as we continue to build an equitable and inclusive workplace here at SIE. Even though there is much more work ahead of us, I could not be more proud of our efforts and our global Pride@PlayStation employee network groups, seeing all they’ve accomplished and the impact they are making."

The merits, messages and work from the company, including their defense of transgender people rights, has received recognition. Sony Interactive Entertainment was acknowledged for having the highest score at the human rights campaign, according to the Foundation's Equality Index.

Regarding PlayStation’s titles, more than 50 games have been labelled with a certain degree of LGBTQ+ values and visibility on them. The list includes The Last of Us Part 2, Night in the Woods, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Life is Strange, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon Zero Dawn. You can see the rest at the “Great LGBTQ+ Games” selection at the PlayStation Store.

Lastly, a special theme that commemorates Pride can be freely downloaded for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You only need to redeem the following code from the PlayStation Store's Redeem Code section:
