Bloober Team seems to be having a great time at the moment. The studio behind Layers of Fear, Blair Witch and the recent The Medium is taking the spotlight among horror fans.
Last week we told you about the partnership with Konami, an announcement that has left players excited because it might mean that a new Silent Hill is in the works. However, it seems that there are three more games being developed by the studio.
According to the publication Wccftech, Bloober Team acquired funding from the European Union to help with three titles in development.
The following are the three games that Bloober Team might be developing:
H2O
This would be the third installment of Layers of Fear, the franchise that lstarted the popularity of the studio. The idea of H20 (working title) is to be based on the aforementioned franchise's main features, while adding some revolutionary ones. These are some of the main features:
- An intimate story that revolves around a unique and specific character with whom the player can identify.
- It will have the artistic theme as the main motive.
- Uncovering the layers of history through subsequent revelations of the masterpiece.
- It will revolve around madness.
- It will have a great air of mystery.
- Closed and claustrophobic spaces.
Black
The most strange from the three. Black would be an FPS (yeah, just like that other shooter from 2006) and it will feature aliens in the Middle Age. Weird enough, even for Bloober Team's standards.
- Unique setting, unconventional mix of the Middle Ages and exotic species.
- Mature story of the dark aspects of faith and humanity with the alien life form as the catalyst for character development.
- Ambiguous moral choices (should we punish those who have wronged us or support them against a greater evil? Should we save a child at the cost of our own life?).
- Blend of stealth and intense and visceral combat (melee / melee).
- The historical setting makes the story more realistic and easy to identify, allows possible derivations set in other historical periods (more or less like Assassin's Creed).
Dum Spiro
Taking place in WWII between 1941-44 in the Litzmannstadt ghetto, Dum Spiro would be about an imprisioned boy in a ghetto for Polish Jews. This boy will try to do anything that he can to save his little sister. The title of this protect comes from “dum spiro, spero”, a Latin phrase that means "while I breathe, I hope". These are the known details so far:
- Branched plot of the game: the game is divided into three acts.
- Dilemmas in subsequent acts chosen based on previous elections.
- An extensive system of interpersonal relationships.
It's worth making clear that none of these games have been officially confirmed by Bloobler Team yet. Stay tuned for more news about the studio.
