Although this update didn't require any server maintenance, this quick Fortnite patch for July 6 contains quite a few new features.
It puts an end to the festivities of the Cosmic Summer, centered on Believer Beach, and instead introduces the parasite-infested Holly Hatchery.
Also, a versatile new material has been added: Alien Nanites. These be used to create anti-gravity fields, or used to craft IO and Alien weapons.
Alien Nanites
Alien Nanites are new items that can also be used as crafting materials. They can be found in all chests in the game, with larger quantities in chests found in the Alien Mothership and Saucers.
- Combine Nanites with a Rare or higher quality machine gun to create a Kymera Pistolaser.
- Combine Nanites with a Rare or higher quality Assault Rifle to create a Pulse Rifle.
- Combine Nanites with a Rare or higher quality Sniper Rifle to create a Railgun.
Zyg and Choppy are back!
An alien named Choppy and a robot named Zyg have begun to roam the island, depositing what appear to be parasite eggs. They have made their first stop in the south of the island.
If you decide to foil their plans, you can receive a special pistol, more powerful than the Kymera.
Holly Hedges becomes Holly Hatchery
The alien biome has begun to affect Holly Hedges, which is now Holly Hatchery.
Part of the city is now in an alien anti-gravity field. Players inside will float, and it is the perfect place to get hold of alien technology.
This weightless zone will expand as the days go by during Season 7.
