On July 22, an EA Play Live will showcase just what the developer has in store for us in the remainder of 2021 and beyond, including FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042.
And although the absentee list is enough to lead people to believe the show won't be all that hot, there could be one or two surprises.
The missing IP from EA and BioWare include Mass Effect, which recently saw its original trilogy remastered; the return of Dragon Age after a long hibernation, the hype-worthy Skate 4, and whatever EA has planned for the Star Wars license, in particular a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order.
Annual franchises and live-service games
As usual, be prepared for a good chunk of the show to be based around existing franchises and big earners, such as FIFA 22, Madden 22 and Apex Legends.
EA has already begun releasing details for these titles, with a new gameplay showcase expected for FIFA 22 tomorrow.
Battlefield 2042
Surely be one of the main titles shown during EA Play Live, we've already got some Battlefield 2042 details -- launch date, a few minutes of gameplay and first opinions.
We could get details of a beta test, which was postponed a few weeks ago. The game promises a lot, at least visually, with epic 128-player battles and some of the largest maps ever created in the series..
Lost in Random
Another promising EA Original, little is known about Lost in Random. It would seem ideal for EA Play Live to drop more details about this gothic fairytale from Zoink.
The return of Dead Space
Dead Space, long rumoured to be making a comeback, may well be part of the event. According to rumours EA Motive will work on a remake or remaster of the cult survival horror by Visceral Games.
