The PS5 and Xbox Series shortage could last for several years, says Intel CEO

The global chip shortage doesn't seem to be ending any time soon.

There have been issues and shortages in the tech world for months, especially the PS5 and Xbox Series, These shortages have given rise to temporary closures of factories because there is no possibility of creating screens, or the difficulties in getting hold of a graphics card.

This story of global chip shortages continues, leading to insufficient stocks of the PS5, Xbox Series, and RTX GPUs — and it looks like it's going to stay that way.

This seems to have been confirmed by Intel CEO, Pat Gelsinger, in an official press release.  He expects "shortages to bottom out in the second half" however he goes on to say that "it will take another one to two years before the industry is able to completely catch up with demand".

Manufacturers are accelerating the production side of machines, but with the global chip shortage these efforts could be cut short. And it's not just consoles, this chip is also integrated into many other devices, such as smartphones or vehicle displays.

If you're still on the lookout for a console we recommend following @PS5UKStock@XboxStockAlerts and @mattswider to keep up with when stocks are available.
