We continue to learn new details about Rainbow Six Extraction, the next installment in the Tom Clancy series from Ubisoft.
This title changes its approach somewhat, becoming a cooperative tactical shooter in which up to three players face a horde of dangerous enemies.
Now, Ubisoft have published a new, five-minute gameplay trailer which reveals more about the game, such as map changes, missions, and how the progression system works.
The developers state that the aim of Extraction is "infinite replayability".
There will be a total of 18 agents on release, each with their own skills and playstyles, as well as their own progression and customization options. Depending on which agent players choose, for example, you can break walls with explosives or provide cover for colleagues using smokes.
There will also be 13 different types of missions, all with the infected enemies as protagonists. Nests will have to be tracked and sabotaged, or areas decontaminated and samples taken for investigation.
Ubisoft promise plenty of options when it comes to the replayability of the title.
Finally, there will be 12 constantly evolving maps, across four settings: San Francisco, New Mexico, Alaska and New York. Each stage will be at least three times larger than those found in Rainbow Six Siege.
As for enemies, initially there will be 13 different types, all of which have their own unique characteristics that will need to be considered in defeating them.
Rainbow Six Extraction is scheduled for release in January 2022.
