While we still wait for September's Nintendo Direct, the company continues to work and just launched the new version of their hybrid console. The firmware update to 13.0.0 introduced changes that now allow the use of bluetooth for audio devices meaning that it is now possible to use your switch with AirPods or Bluetooth headphones.
There are still some restrictions to take into account when using Bluetooth:
- Bluetooth microphones cannot be used.
- You can connect up to two wireless controllers to your console while using Bluetooth audio.
- Bluetooth audio cannot be used when local wireless mode is enabled
- Only 1 Bluetooth audio device connected at a time, but 10 devices can be synced.
Depending on the device used, it is possible to have some latencies. This update added another option to update docking stations with Ethernet port for Nintendo Switch consoles (including the OLED version).
Another slight addition is in the Internet section of your switch, it is now possible to know if your connection uses a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency.
