The Pixel War is over! It all started last April 1, when a subreddit by the name of r/place put up a completely white sheet, letting users place tiles it in whatever colors they wanted. The rules are simple: if your account is verified, you can put a color pixel every 5 minutes, if not, every 20 minutes.
Last weekend, on the night of April 2 to 3, the “Pixel War” broke out, during which communities from all over the world fought virtually. The main clash was between France and Spain, who felt that the French-speaking community had pixelated too much of the square.
Who pixelated the most?
France won this pixelation contest, with more than 185,000 pixels placed.
As you can see, the numbers are perfectly round, because this is an estimate.
In second place is Germany, with 161,000 pixels and in third place is the United States , with 114,000 tiles placed.
A dazzling progression
On the r/place is also posted a curve showing the evolution of pixelation by country.
