Fortnite has a reputation for being a game loved by the youngest, and yet Epic Games seems to want to venture into the horror side, if recent leaks on the next Battle Royale cosmetic collaboration are to be believed. Yesterday, some of the most prominent Fortnite dataminers learned that a crossover with Dead by Daylight was in the works. Apparently, the skin of Meg Thomas (and possibly that of Michael Myers) will be expected soon on Fortnite, while a "Llama" charm will be available on Dead by Daylight.
A project under discussion for three months
According to IFireMonkey, the crossover project has been under discussion at Epic Games since March 2022, and it was considered abandoned until yesterday. It was ShiinaBR who therefore revived the rumor, after an anonymous source confirmed the establishment of the partnership.
It is surprising to say the least to see such a collaboration emerge at the start of summer, and during a season called "Relax", which gives pride of place to relaxation and celebration. Already Dead by Daylight does not target the same audience as Fortnite at all... So if the crossover is paired with this season, the gap will frankly be funny.
However, it is possible that Epic Games will keep this project under wraps until Halloween (even if that's a long way off), when the collaboration would then make more sense.
