Sony is well and truly in the sauce following a complaint stipulating that the company would be aware of certain defects in its next-gen console, and would however continue to sell it. Truth or fake news? It's up to the courts to decide!

Bad news for Sony, the company finds itself sued! In question, defects found on the PlayStation 5, which would have supposedly been hidden by the Japanese company. Let's come back together to this legal complaint, which could cause big problems for Sony.

Hidden defects on the Playstation 5?

This is what the person at the origin of the complaint, filed on July 12 in a courthouse in Illinois (region of the United States), by Christina Trejo. The plaintive suffered from a manufacturing defect on his console which, shortly after buying it, began to suddenly turn off, canceling all the progress made in the game.

Trejo therefore consulted Sony's after-sales service and, according to her, discovered that she was not the only one and that the Japanese company was indeed hiding this defect. She then decided to file a complaint against the said company , hoping to obtain the truth, as well as compensation.

"The Defense (Sony) PS5 has a defect that causes the console to suddenly freeze and shut down while the user is playing video games he/she has purchased (the "Console Fault"). Although the PS5 can be used for many entertainment purposes, playing video games on the console is its main function.The fault of the console affects users' ability to play video games and compromises the main function and functionality. general use of the PS5. This is not a first for Sony

Indeed, last year, the stick drift of certain PS5 controllers had been at the center of a legal complaint . A problem that had been solved by Sony, just like those concerning the standby of the console or even certain graphic bugs, which have (almost) all disappeared following updates.

However, this time it is not only the defect of the console which is in question, but the fact that the Japanese company would have hidden it, knowing very well that it existed. Nothing is less certain, and nothing has yet been proven by justice. Of course, the latter will do its investigations and its work and we will know more about this whole story in a few weeks!
