How far will Kai Cenat, the new rising star of the English-speaking Twitch-game, go? This weekend, the young content creator exceeded the historic threshold of 100,000 subs on his Twitch channel, thus smashing his previous record … established barely a week ago. It was in front of more than 170,000 spectators that Kai Cenat celebrated this new record live, and with great fanfare!
A colossal hype built in a year
Kai Cenat has been involved in streaming for over four years, but it was only this year that success came knocking at his door. And in an absolutely dazzling way. At the start of 2022, Kai Cenat had barely 7,000 Twitch subscribers. It now has over 100,000, having acquired over 10,000 new subs in the past three days alone .
In the running for a world record
Surfing on this cloud of hype, Kai Cenat could well come to titillate the world's top streamers. Indeed, the streamer has certainly become the creator of English-language content the most subbed, exceeding 90,000 subscribers of xQc, but it remains below the biggest streamers in the world. We think in particular of the Brazilian Casimiro Miguel Vieira da Silva Ferreira , who today sits on the first step of the podium with more than 135,000 Twitch subscribers.
Kai Cenat also took advantage of this new record of 100,000 subscribers, immortalized live (and on the homepage of the Amazon platform!), to hammer home the need for more representation of the black community on Twitch. At the time of celebrating this symbolic threshold, the streamer also wore a t-shirt on which it was written “ Stop being racist ”.
