Konami yesterday tweeted a teaser for an event called Silent Hill Transmission , in which we'll learn more about the next installment in the Silent Hill franchise.
In your wildest dreams, do you see this city?
This sentence refers to a letter that James Sunderland, the hero of Silent Hill 2, receives at the start of the game.
"In your restless dreams, do you see this city? The latest updates to the SILENT HILL series will be unveiled during the #SILENTHILL stream on Wednesday, October 19 at 11:00 PM CEST" .
Konami has also launched a website for the occasion , on which a countdown is displayed, and where we can certainly view the announcement trailer, if there is a trailer.
Warning retweets?
Many people retweeted the news. Among them is original Silent Hill artist Masahiro Ito , suggesting he is involved.
Ito served as Konami's horror series art director for its first three episodes, and also designed many of the creatures that featured in the game. He had confirmed in 2020 to be on a new project.
Elijah Wood also retweeted the Konami teaser, but it's quite possible that it's just the fan in him celebrating the long-awaited announcement.
A game called "Silent Hill: The Short Message" was rated by South Korea's game rating committee less than a month ago. More recently, Christophe Gans, director and screenwriter of the first Silent Hill film, and still working closely with Konami, confirmed that several teams at Konami are working on several games in the franchise.
We'll meet you on Wednesday October 19 at 11 p.m. for the big reveal.
