Yves Guillemot — Ubisoft's co-founder and current CEO — has himself more or less confirmed to his investors that rumors concerning the porting of Ubisoft games to Oculus were indeed sitting on a real basis: Facebook and Ubisoft will partner up to release VR game, notably around Splinter Cell's and Assassin's Creed's licenses. Even though he did not confirm this, Ubisoft's CEA hasn't denied anything either. He nevertheless bears out the interest of Ubisoft for virtual reality games — which is almost a hint.
According to The Information, which revealed the partnership, Oculus would be looking to develop new partnerships all around the globe with top tier development studios. Whether it's for Facebook — which gains access to AAA games for the Oculus — or for Ubisoft — which steps a foot into Virtual Reality, this partnership seems to be a win-win situation.
By going further than what they did with Space Junkes, Star Trek: Bridge Crow, or Eagle Flight, Ubisoft might become a major actor of this market, especially with Facebook's support.
