Arena Duos return for Fortnite Winter Royale 2019

Duos are back in Fortnite, alongside a new competitive mode. With the 2019 edition of Winter Royale on the horizon, the two-player mode is once again available in Epic Games' battle royale. It's a great opportunity to train with your partner-in-crime!

The sooner the better!

We knew Arena Duos would make its comeback in preparation for the big Winter Royale 2019 event — which is being held with two-player teams. The popular format was added to the list of playable modes yesterday, accessible from the Fortnite menu.

The Arena and its ranking system will allow players to train in the best conditions possible for the major winter tournament, which will take place between December 20-22.

Winter Royale also serves as preparation for the format selection for the next Fortnite World Championship.

During Chapter 2 Season 1 of Fortnite, the competition was held in Squad (4 players) mode. This format has had only limited success so far in competitive, for reasons still seen during the FNCS — players have found it difficult to find a sustainable squad, there have been technical problems, a less-than-optimal playing experience, and more.

Duos is seen by the community as the "best format" for the battle royale, in many ways. This should give us a great competitive show before Christmas.

Fortnite x Star Wars: an exclusive scene will be broadcast live from Risky Reels' cinema

The collaboration between Fortnite and Star Wars seemed to be over, but Risky Reels' big screen has come alive, and we have some great news. An exclusive extract from "The Rise of Skywalker" will be broadcast live on December 14.
