Fortnite's next season doesn't start for another month. Epic Games will have to make us wait while the FNCS Duos and the Agents' Briefing Challenges are completed.
The publisher has made the update official via the Fortnite Status Twitter account. The release states that maintenance will be required. It should last between one and two hours if it's a standard patch.
Maintenance required to install update 12.50 is complete. The game and the servers are available again.
The last major update (v12.40) only transformed The Shark into a large prison. Some leaks could still come true via this update, such as the anti-helicopter Rocket Launcher, or the progression of the Doomsday project.
