Let's face it, this week's broadcast was quite surprising, not to say weird. In the Rift, things weren't different and it just looks like the 2020 Spring Split never really happened.
Except for the domination of Cloud9, who started this split with four victories in a row, the League of Legends Championship Series is far different from what we were expecting.
Counter Logic Gaming perfectly illustrates that point: in two weeks, they already have the same number of victories than they had during the entire Spring Split. Seeing them in second place neck and neck with Evil Geniuses, FlyQuest, and Team Liquid seems unbelievable — yet that's the reality of the Summer Split.
Everything seems to be going against the odds, just like Team SoloMid's powerhouse roster. Will the curse of TSM eventually lift off? The return of Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng was supposed to bring an end to their struggle, but it seems that it's not yet the case...
With only one victory under their belt, 100 Thieves and Golden Guardians do not have the luxury of being 2-2 like TSM — but their situation is still better than Dignitas or Immortals, who just conceded their fourth game in a row...
The LCS is about to resume and ten teams are competing at the top of NA, not only to be crowned champion, but also to qualify for Worlds! Who are the favorites? Who should take it all?
As Week 1 ends, three teams rose to the top, while three others dropped in the bottom of the standings...

At this point, we're just wondering how long Cloud9 are going to stay undefeated. They are the only team who managed to grab four victories yet, without even being really contested by anyone else. Until some team manages to beat them, they'll remain at the top.

We were so confident that Evil Geniuses were real contenders for the LCS crown that we almost forgot how young the roster actually was. Absolutely dominant against Team Liquid, they were then completely outplayed by Cloud9.
We feel EG is still the second-best team in NA, and they'll remain exactly at this spot until they defeat Cloud9 or get outclassed by another team from the chasing pack.

Edward "Tactical" Ra is on a rampage, destroying duos after duos — but that wasn't enough to get over Evil Geniuses. However, that wasn't a bad week for Team Liquid, as this defeat was balanced by a masterful victory over 100 Thieves.
The future still looks promising for Liquid, and they did manage to get back on track after the last split disaster. For now, this third place suits them like a charm, but the new Liquid roster hasn't played yet against Cloud9...
Next week might bring some huge surprises — until then, Liquid will stay on the last step of the podium.

What a glorious week for FlyQuest! Stomping over Dignitas wasn't really a feat, but defeating TSM certainly was. With the same record than EG, Liquid, and CLG, FlyQuest should place higher in our rankings. However, to gain their spot within the leading pack, they'll have to beat one of the three teams above.
Until they get this opportunity, they'll remain fourth.

How not to be disappointed with Team SoloMid? When you assemble a roster made of legendary players under the banner of one of the oldest LCS organizations, people have high expectations — and you need to live to these.
Given their current state, a victory over Immortals means absolutely nothing — while a defeat against FlyQuest is telling. TSM haven't faced yet Cloud9 or Evil Geniuses, which means they still have an opportunity to shine.
We're strongly doubting about it, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt until next week — hence their current placement.

We were asking a lot from Counter Logic Gaming, and they surely delivered. With three victories to their record, the team seems to have completely wiped out from their memories the absolute disaster that was the Spring Split.
For now, CLG only faced mid and bottom table teams — if we're not counting on the game where EG absolutely obliterated them. In other words, they still have to prove that they deserve to be in the chasing pack, and that their current spot isn't a fluke.
From the bottom of the pile to mid-table teams, CLG are definitely back on track — and it feels very pleasant to see them reborn.

This week, Golden Guardians faced a huge challenge as they met Cloud9 for the first time this split. Without that much surprise, they got blasted out of the Rift — but it was quite expected.
The Guardians, however, had also the opportunity to prove they were more than a low-table team by defeating CLG — but they failed to do so. Their current spot in our rankings reflects their current situation: they're better than most teams, but they can't be considered as true contenders of the leading pack.

As said above, a win against Immortals doesn't mean that much, but it's still a victory for 100 Thieves — and they surely needed it, just to make sure not to be in last.
Although they won a game this week, unlike Golden Guardians, they weren't placed against higher ranking teams. In other words, they failed to seize the opportunity of grabbing more wins, while the Guardians were only unable to defeat the big favorites of the competition — hence the current placement of both teams in our rankings.

Immortals have one of the hardest and worst starts of a split in their history. Period.
Four defeats in a row, without real contestation, make us believe the team is totally underperforming. Given their current state, they share the last place in our rankings with Dignitas — as both teams displayed the same crippling level.
Previous ranking: 8th (-2)
Week 2 record: 0-2
Dignitas isn't only going through a bad time, they're falling apart. To see such incredible geniuses like Zaqueri "aphromoo" Black or Henrik "Froggen" Hansen constantly failing to perform isn't only a disappointment: it's also a sorrow.
No cohesion, no leadership, Dignitas are so far behind all other teams except Immortals, that we're really scared about their future in LCS. They still have seven weeks to prove us wrong, but they're currently the worst team of the league.
