Sony seems to we willing to push innovation to the maximum for its next PlayStation 5. In fact, a patent filed by Sony in December 2019 reported a "data processing device". This same patent is described as "a switching operation to pass from a mode of reception of an operation on the main screen to a mode of reception of an operation on the sub-screen ". In a few words, this should enable the picture-in-picture mode as on the current Xbox One and its Snap function.
While nothing is confirmed yet, this new system could be added to the PS5 with a release planned later this year for the console.
