All video game players are frustrated when they are victims of a bug. The frustration is all the more pronounced when you face a player who consciously exploits it. It calls into question the competitive integrity of the game, but more importantly, it spoils the experience of others.
A Valorant player discovered an Omen glitch that allows him to take an advantage against Cypher. He made it public and we're now waiting for a response from Riot Games. It should be quick as the publisher proved with Haven bug.
A bug to take precious information
One of Omen's skills is called Dark Cover. It's a versatile ability that can be used as both smoke and flashbang as it partially blinds enemies. It can be thrown through a wall or an obstacle. In this case, Omen enters a special state that allows him to map the target location to best place his skill.
However, he's not supposed to see invisible things like Cypher's Trapwire or Spycam. These are normally hidden, except after they have been placed. Then, they sparkle for a very brief moment. When Omen uses Dark Cover, he can now see them when they're supposed to be imperceptible, giving him valuable information and a considerable advantage.
In a game where information is essential, this bug has its importance. Especially since it works even during the buy phase before each round begins. By taking this information, we can avoid the traps set by Cypher and choose a safe route.
One can also deduce from this information the approximate position of Cypher who must be nearby to place his abilities. The agent being a champion rather defensive, he's not always the one you want to attack.
His kit is flexible and can be picked up and reused. Like a recycling pro, this allows him to make some savings. By knowing their position at the beginning of the round, you can hurry to destroy them and then delay and make sure they won't be reused afterwards, making the round more expensive for the enemy Cypher.
