At the time of entering the Valorant adventure, T1 was ambitious. However, it didn't achieve the expected results and faced internal difficulties. While former CS:GO champion Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham is still behind in the competition, the team will also have to find two new players. Austin "crashies" Roberts and Victor "food" Wong have been released from their contracts and are paying for disappointing results overall.
The team had launched its project well with a nice second place in the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Showdown. In the following tournaments, they never managed to make it past the quarter-finals. While TSM and Sentinels are asserting themselves as dominant powers on the North American scene, T1 wobbles and stagnates.
By recruiting two new players and awaiting Skadoodle's return, the technical staff hopes to breathe new life into the team. The competitive scene is still in its infancy and there is still a lot of young talent to be discovered. While waiting for the names of the two replacements, several rumors are circulating.
Some believe that former CS:GO player Joshua "steel" Nissan could be a potential recruit. Recently retired, he's currently a content creator at Chaos Esports Club but could join his former IBUYPOWER teammates, Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham and Keven "AZK" Larivière, to form a controversial collective. If this track makes some fans fantasize, we don't know the level nor the exact motivation of steel who will be 31 this year...
Another track would be to use the academic roster. The Canadian player Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic has already played with the first team as a stand-in and could take the lead. This is at least a more plausible hypothesis than using Korean roster players. In any case, there are several possibilities for the organisation, which should be spoilt for choice.
