Server downtime for the update begins December 2 at 9:00 PM PT and is expected to run until approximately 1:00 AM PT.
ShinaBR also notes that the new Season 5 would then begin ten hours after the Devourer of the Worlds event — which will end Season 4. It's quite unusual to see a season-end event so close to the beginning of another one. There is a good chance that Galactus, and the fight against this giant, won't leave the scenery and the geography of our beloved island unscathed.
During these ten hours of off-season beats, it's possible that the game may be unavailable, like the black out that preceded Chapter 2. It would be surprising for Epic Games to make a new version of the map playable only for ten hours.
Theories about Season 5 are going strong on social networks. Nostalgic people think that Galactus will destroy the current island, and that a leap in time will take us to the map of Fortnite's beginnings!
