Royalty
Although he starts with the lowest stats in the game, it's actually the easiest character to play, and the most versatile.
You'll quickly acquire levels to steer him in the direction you want him to go, and he's already a good spellcaster to begin with. Unlike the wizard who is limited by his mana, he has a ring that will regenerate it over time (sold later in the game for 60,000 souls).
