The endgame of Resident Evil Village draws nearer as you head to the Stronghold. You're going to have to fight over and over until you meet an old acquaintance.

Make sure you prepare well before moving on.

Preparations

From this point fights will be much more numerous and you will consume a lot of ammo, so make sure you collect all you can from the map so far, and make sure to visit the Duke to sell unnecessary items and pick up supplies.

This part of the game should be about improving the damage and the rate of fire of your sniper rifle, the second shotgun, and the magnum. The latter weapon does massive damage, but its ammo is very limited, so use it sparingly. This is also the time to take an interest in cooking and its permanent effects, to boost your health and defense.

Finally, check the recipes for ammo and other consumables available and prioritize explosives (bombs and mines).

Once ready, head to the Stronghold and its waves of monsters.

The Stronghold

Follow the passageway to The Stronghold. In this snowy area you will meet plenty of enemies, and will be able to collect a fair bit of loot on the way.

When you finally arrive at the ruins, you'll see they are guarded by a small pack of enemies, some of which shoot flaming arrows. Once killed, go up to collect the loot.

There are levers on each side of the door. Access is on the left by a stone staircase or on the right by a yellow ladder. Be careful, activating the first lever will cause a wave of enemies to appear. If you have explosives, use them or use the barrels scattered below.

The gate drops and you arrive in front of the Stronghold. After the wooden door you come to a supply room with a pipe bomb and a save point.

Head up the stairs, battling your way through the lycans and collecting loot as you go. At the top of the room, a zip line will take you to a large armored hut: there the magnum, a mine, or the grenade launcher will come in handy.

Boss: Urias

Follow the path straight, through large iron doors and a circular room, picking up loot before ascending the spiral staircase. Sneak into the crack in the wall and enjoy the scenery before continuing down the corridor.

You finally land in a column pit from which you cannot escape. Urias is back. Aim for the head; when he returns to the platform he will call zombies to help him. Take care of them, and when he jumps, consider shielding behind a column.

Make sure to look in any recesses in the walls to find ammo. Continue plugging away at him, and he should eventually fall.
