The Priest, the go-to healer in WoW Classic. If you enjoy healing and Priest sounds like a fun option, just know that finding end-game group content will not be an issue for you. From pocket healing in PvP with Discipline to raid & dungeon dominance as Holy, the Priest is truly the Classic healer. As for DPS, Shadow will provide what you need, and it will also be the best spec for levelling.
The Priest is really a tale of two — from being arguably the best healer in the game across almost all content, raid utility thanks to Power Word: Fortitude and healing numbers to match, to being a pretty middle-of-the-road DPS. While we're not saying you can't go Shadow, be prepared for a lot of competition for the spot. You might want to find a guild that has a Warlock or two, as the Shadow Priest debuff Darkness is very good.
Available to: Undead, Troll, Human, Dwarf, Night Elf
Type: Healer, Ranged Damage Dealer
Standard Bars: Health/Mana
Available Armor: Cloth
Available Weapons: One-Handed Mace, Wands, Dagger, Staff
If you intend to heal in Classic, the Priest is certainly a class to consider and Holy is probably the king of the specs. The one caveat is that Holy could be very popular in Classic, and with so much knowledge floating around, we might well live in a world in which Holy Priests make up the vast majority of the healer pool. This could make it hard to find a group, so proceed with some caution.
Discipline Priest is to PvP healing what Holy is to PvE content — your team will want to have one, and the enemy team will wish you didn't have one. Discipline is also pretty handy in PvE content, with Power Infusion giving immense power to one raid member every 3 minutes.
Shadow is the Priest's primary DPS spec. While far from the level of damage of a core damage class such a Mage or Warlock, the Shadow Priest will bring usefulness to a raid. It will especially excel in PvP, and should be your go-to levelling spec.

Best Priest Racial Abilities in Classic
Main Abilities
Wards the friendly target against Fear. The next Fear effect used against the target will fail, using up the ward. Lasts 10 min.
The Dwarf Priest racial is one of the most required spells when it comes to Classic. Fear Ward is almost a requirement, and it makes Dwarf Priests the envy of the Horde.
Instantly heals the caster for 1324 to 1562.
The Human Priest racial, a large self-cast heal. Pretty self-explanatory, but a highly useful spell when it comes to PvP or levelling. Alongside some of the Human's other racials, this is just the icing on the cake.
Rains starshards down on the enemy target’s, causing Arcane damage over 6 sec
The Night Elf Priest racial. While far from the best, Starshards provides an AoE damage spell, something the spec lacks in Classic.
Afflicts the target with a disease that causes Shadow damage over 24 sec. Damage caused by the Devouring Plague will heal the caster
The Undead Priest racial, great for PvP or moments of damage in PvE content. It certainly fits best with the Shadow Priest kit, but also provides a solid bit of DPS to Holy or Discipline.
Weakens the target enemy, reducing damage caused by 2 min
The Troll Priest racial. It will be great in PvP content to stick on that pesky Warrior who won't leave you alone, or for those bosses in PvE which are causing all sorts of problems for your team.

Best for making money |
Enchanting + Tailoring - This is the ideal combination for gearing, while also making a bit of money on the side. Tailoring will see you turn cloth from the world into cloth gear, which you can either use or disenchant with Enchanting to earn some gold by selling enchantments.
Alchemy + Herbalism - The best combination if you either want to make gold by selling potions and herbs, or just want to save some gold by making your own potions.
