Thunderblade, blessed sword of the Windseeker is one of the legendary objects of World of Warcraft and is the second best known in WoW Classic. Check out our complete guide to getting Prince Thunderaan's one-handed sword in person.

WoW Classic: Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, guide

Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is one of the three legendary items in WoW Classic and is the second to become obtainable. Much more difficult to obtain than Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros, it requires you to go to the Blackwing Lair, the second raid of WoW Classic.

Who can get Blade Tone, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker?

In total, 4 classes can use Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker (but this only makes sense on Warriors and Rogues, let's be serious):

Paladin
Alliance only

In order to get this legendary Blade, players will need to get both of the Windswind Links, combine them with many different components, venture into the Molton Core and the Blackwing Lair before finally having to defeat Prince Thunderaan himself. Here is the step-by-step procedure:

Step 1: Get one of the Wind Finder Links

In order to get the Thunderaan the Windseeker quest, you need to get one of the two Bindings of the Windseeker: the left half and the right half. One of them is Garr, the 4th boss of the Molton Core, and the other on Baron Geddon, 6th boss of the Molton Core. The drop rate is low at around 3% for each of the two links.

Once one of the two links in your possession, go to Silithus and head to the spot of the quest Examine the Vessel offered to you by Highlord Demitrian in the extreme north-west of the area.

Step 2: Gather the required components for the release of Thunderaan

Once the Vessel is examined, Demitrian puts you in charge of freeing the Prince Thunderaan. To do this, he invites you to visit Earthcaller Franzahl in Winterspring. He'll inform you that a Goblin named Krixix holds the secret of the melting of the Elementium necessary for the release of the Prince.

So now you have all the information you need, you just have to "gather" many components. Here they are as well as how to get them:

Components

How to obtain

Elementium Bar X10

Created by Miners by smelting Elementium Ore, 10 Arcanite Bars, Fiery Core and 3 Elemental Flux.

Essence of the Firelord

100% drop rate when killing Ragnaros in Molton Core.

Left Binding of the Windseeker

3% drop chance when killing Garr in Molton Core.

Right Binding of the Windseeker

3% drop chance when killing Baron Geddon in Molton Core

Additional information about Elementium Bars:

  • The making of each Elementium Bar requires the help of a Miner who can kill the first two bosses in Blackwing's Lair. The recipe to craft Elementium can only be learned through Master Elemental Shaper Krixix, at the Blackwing Lair. Since he is hostile, one of the Priests in the raid must use Mind Control on it and the Raid Miners must interact with this new temporary ally in order to learn the skill in question,
  • Elementium Ore can be obtained from the Goblins in the second part of the Blackwing Lair,
  • Only Alchemists can create Arcanite Bars,
  • The Recipe: Transmutation of Arcanite is sold by Alchemist Pilonzugg in Gadgetzan, Tanaris, for 5 gold,
  • Alchemists have a 48-hour cooldown on their Transmute: Arcanite, so use several Alchemists or you will have to wait 200 days just to get the 100 Arcanite Bars needed to create your 10 bars of Elementium,
  • The Thorium Bars (necessary for the creation of Arcanite Bars ) are created by the Miners by mining thorium regardless of the type of deposit.
  • Arcane Crystals (necessary for the creation of Arcanite Bars ) can be obtained by the Miners in Thorium veins,
  • The Fiery Cores can be obtained from all creatures (boss and trash) of the Molton Core,
  • Elemental Flux is sold at any Blacksmith supplies vendor. Once all these components in your possession, go to Highlord Demitrian in SIlithus and accept the quest Thunderaan the Windseeker.

Step 3: Defeat Thunderaan the Windseeker

Highlord Demitrian offers you the quest Rise, Thunderfury. Do not immediately show him the Dormant Wind Kissed Blade as it summons Prince Thunderaan!

Return to the capital, and announce in the trade channel that you are at the stage needing to defeat the Prince Thunderaan to obtain your legendary weapon, a number of players should answer the call. Also use your friends and your guild, group all the beautiful people up and go to Silithus.

Introduce the Dormant Wind Kissed Blade to Highlord Demitrian, he will free Prince Thunderaan from his prison and you will have to deal with it with the help of your allies. The fight is rather simple, especially because a monumental amount of players will join you for the simple fact of being present at this extraordinary event.

Once the Prince is defeated, complete your quest with Highlord Demitrian.
