WoW Classic: Azuregos World Boss Guide

Azuregos is a World Boss in World of Warcraft Classic. You can fight him at any level, but it's best to wait until you've reached Level 60 before taking him on. Azuregos can be found in Azshara, a contested zone. Read more about his location below.

A Brief History Of

Long ago, Azuregos served Malygos, acting as a guardian over one of the four shards that once formed The Scepter of the Shifting Sands, which could be used to reopen the Scarab Wall. However, Azuregos fell victim to an eternal boredom. After fulfilling his duty for 500 years, the dragon left his post to study the Highborne elven ruins in Azshara, with the goal of discovering the magic artifacts which survived the Great Sundering during the War of the Ancients between the Night Elves and the Highborne.

Azuregos' Location

Azuregos can be found in Azshara, a contested zone. He wanders across the map, but can be easily found in southern Azshara, next to the coast of The Great Sea.

Spells: Teleport, Mark of Frost, Shield, Mana Burn

Recommended Formation

• Main tank in front of Azuregos
• Melee DPS to the side of Azuregos
• DPS at a distance to Azuregos
• Healers at a distance to Azuregos

It is vital that your DPS or Healers do not pull aggro at any point during the fight. Let you tanks build threat at the start of the fight and once the boss finishes teleporting, otherwise you risk ruining your raid formation.

Be sure to use potions and bandages during Azuregos' teleportations, as acting in these small breaks in the fight will keep you alive.

Fire Mages should avoid using Fireball, as the boss' Shield ability reduces damage taken and resists the DoT component of the spell. Instead, players should use Frost Ward or Scorch.

Mana Burn will drain your mana reserves, so be sure to bring along a slew of mana potions. It's also a good idea to use Curse of the Elements and Judgement of Wisdom on the boss.

Finally, make sure you drink Frost Protection Potions to survive the damage dealt by Mark of Frost.
