In the world of card games, new expansions often mean rotation. New cards replace old ones, and always create new ways to play. Design Director Andrew Yip has confirmed that Legends of Runeterra will be no exception!

Legends of Runeterra: Andrew Yip confims expansion rotation

If you are used to card games, you already know what this title means. As with Hearthstone, Magic Arena and many other CCG, Legends of Runeterra will see the arrival of new expansions as time goes by, and will inevitably see the departure of the older ones. Design Director Andrew Yip just confirmed that rotations will be inevitable in the future.

This concept is often present in CCG (Collectible Card Games) and takes place at regular intervals. Most of the time, each new year is the occasion to see the arrival of several expansions, pushing out the oldest ones. Rotations literally reshuffle the cards and radically change the meta by bringing out whole swathes of cards, while allowing a great freshness for the rest.

Since only one expansion is available at the moment, everything remains at the development stage and the question of rotation can remain for a while without posing any problems.

Rotation raises several questions: what will become of the cards that will leave the Standard (the most recent expansions)? Will a new format then be created to allow us to play everything as the Wild mode in Hearthstone?

All these questions and many others have not yet been answered, and this is quite normal. Runeterra needs time to develop and consider all these important questions for the future of the game. For now, let's have fun and discover all that the game has to offer!

Legends of Runeterra: Patch 0.9.0 notes

LoR has been in open beta since January 24, and the first balance patch is coming today. This Version 0.9 fixes some flaws in the deckbuilder, but also modifies some cards already emblematic of various mechanics (such as Fearsome), or others very popular in the meta.
