Dark Star and Cosmic skins coming to Legends of Runeterra in Patch 2.8.0

The next patch will introduce skins to Legends of Runeterra, which give Champion Cards new looks and animations. To round out the Dark Star and Cosmic theme, there will also be new Guardians and Boards; including the Dark Emissary's Realm featuring a Mega Guardian.

The next Legends of Runeterra patch is nearly here, and with it comes the first Champion skins.

The first skins introduced to the game are Cosmic Zephyr Yasuo, Cosmic Exile Riven, Dark Star Zed and Dark Star Shyvana.

These skins come from a fan favourite theme in the League of Legends game and although these exact skins aren't in the game right now, it is possible that we'll see them added a later point.

Skins can be equipped to Champions, and will change the card art for that Champion as well as some animations.

"Champion skins are a new way to personalize your favorite decks by taking them to an entirely new dimension! Equipping a champion with a skin will alter the art for all copies of each of that champion’s levels, as well as their accompanying flavor text. Some skins have entirely new level-up animations, and alter the appearance of summoned units (i.e. Dark Star Zed’s Living Shadows)."

Riot Games celebrate Pride with content across all of Runeterra

In recognition of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, Riot Games are releasing special content for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.

League of Legends

Coming with the skins are a host of other cosmetics, including Dark Star Boards and Card Backs.

Boards

There will be two new boards coming this patch, both of them within the Dark Star theme.

Dark Horizon will show a black hole and feature visual effects and music, while the Dark Emissary's Realm will have the first Mega Guardians, as well as interactive elements and new effects.

Guardians

Minionaut, Dark Star Drake, and Cosmic Construct T-Hex join the roster; followed by Dark Star Von Yipp and Cosmic Genius Von Yipp.

Card Backs

The Cosmos and The Dark Star Card Backs will be available, as well as Shadow of the Dark Star which shows Dark Star Zed and Cosmic Exile which shows Cosmic Exile Riven.

Emotes and Icons

The More Fired Up Emote will show Dark Star Shyvana, while Sparky Sparky Von Yipp seems to have Dark Star Von Yipp shooting lasers.

There will also be Icons for each of the skins, as well as a generic Cosmic and Dark Star one; and a separate one for Shyvana's Dragon Form

As usual, the content will all come in bundles. The Boards can come together for 1590 Coins, and the skins (with the relevant Champion cards) will cost 4921 Coins.
