While Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is extended to June 4, the competitive meta no longer changes. Two weapons continue to attract the anger of pro players: the Minigun and the Barret. In previous FNCS, these weapons have been extremely oppressive at various stages of a match.
The so-called "Double Barret" technique makes it possible to eliminate a player behind a wall with a simultaneous shot. Relatively simple to execute, this technique then leads the pros to erect several layers of structures between themselves and their enemies. A real nightmare.
The Minigun also generates rage, especially at the end of the game. With a little height and a few ammunition, you can hit spam targets down below. Totally unmanageable.
The problem with this heavy weapon is that it has a Mythic variant: Brutus' Minigun. Each bullet inflicting a total of 33 Structure Damage, the weapon is absolutely devastating, and doesn't even require any specific skill. Whether you're a competitor or a casual gamer, confronting a Mythical Minigun is no easy task.
Since the beginning of Chapter 2, Epic Games has done very little to address this arsenal issue. The last major decision regarding weapons in competition was about the Remote Explosives, and more specifically their drop rate.
As the FNCS Invitational is coming soon, the publisher may make some adjustments to the weapons' statistics. In this case, we hope that their first target will be the Barret and the Minigun, but nothing is certain.
