In an official statement published on Tuesday, April 08, Blizzard announced the opening of a free migration phase for players with characters located on certain very densely populated servers prior to the deployment of Zul'Gurub.
Restrictions and warning
Free character migration is an irreversible change. It is also possible that you have to change the name of your character if it is already occupied on the destination server.
Note that a character cannot be transferred if:
- He is a guild leader
- He has current auctions at the auction house or active auctions
- He has mail in his mailbox
This functionality can be removed at any time without warning if a host server becomes Full, so act quickly especially if you want to migrate with several friends at the same time!
