Each class has a unique class quest that takes them to the Temple of Atal'Hakkar and offers up a rare item as a reward. Read on to find out how to complete the Rogue class quest: A Simple Request.

WoW Classic: A Simple Request — Rogue Sunken Temple Quest

In WoW Classic, Rogues can access several unique class quests. Any Rogue Level 50 or higher can start the final Rogue quest chain, and completing this quest will allow you to choose one of the following items as a reward:

  • Ebon Mask
  • Whisperwalk Boots
  • Duskbat Drape

A Simple Request

To start the final Rogue class quest, simply talk to any Rogue Trainer in any Capital City. They will offer you the following quest:

  • A Simple Request

This quest will send you to Hillbrad Foothills to talk to Lord Jorach Ravenholdt. Because of a quirk in the zone, he's actually located in a cave within Alterac Mountains, but the entrance to his lair is located within Hillsbrad Foothills.

Once you've met Lord Jorach Ravenholdt, he will give you the following quest:

  • Sealed Azure Bag

Jorach wants you to loot a Sealed Azure Bag from a Timbermaw Shaman. This item has quite a low drop rate, so you may have to farm a little while, which will put your reputation with the Timbermaw Hold in jeopardy. There are plenty of Shaman at Ursolan in Northern Azshara, making it an ideal place to farm for this quest. It is possible to Pick Pocket the item from these mobs, which might be a smart idea if you wish to keep your reputation with this faction intact.

Once you've finally gotten your Sealed Azure Bag, go talk to Archmage Xylem, who will offer you the next quest in the chain:

  • Encoded Fragments

He can be reached by talking to Sanath Lim-yo, who will teleport you to the Archmage.

This quest requires you to collect 10 Encoded Fragments by killing or pickpocketing a selection of different mobs, which are listed below:

  • Thunderhead Stagwing
  • Thunderhead Skystormer
  • Thunderhead Patriarch
  • Thunderhead Consort
  • Timberweb Recluse
  • Forest Ooze

Once you've collected all 10 Encoded Fragments, return to Archmage Xylem, who will give you one final quest:

  • The Azure Key

This quest requires you to venture into Sunken Temple to kill Morphaz and loot the Azure Key from his body. Get your 5-man group together, kill him, loot the item, then return to Xylem for your reward.

On your return, Xylem will offer you your choice of the following items:

  • Ebon Mask
  • Whisperwalk Boots
  • Duskbat Drape

The jury is still out on which item is the number 1 choice for Rogues. While Duskbat Drape isn't the most glamorous, its equip effect will always come in use, especially given that no other item offers this effect to Rogues. Whisperwalk Boots are good, but will be replaced quickly. Ebon Mask is better, but will also be replaced in time. Your choice should be between the Ebon Mask and Duskbat Drape, with the Drape having the slight edge due to its exceptional utility.
